Following an incident with their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thereader.mitpress.mit.edu\/what-boeings-door-plug-debacle-says-about-the-future-of-aviation-safety\/#:~:text=On%20January%206%2C%20as%20Alaska,ripped%20headrests%20from%20their%20moorings.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">737 MAX 9 aircraft<\/a>&nbsp;earlier this year, Boeing is facing many challenges including the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/newsroom\/updates-boeing-737-9-max-aircraft#:~:text=To%20hold%20Boeing%20accountable%20for,in%20Renton%2C%20Washington%2C%20and%20Spirit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Aviation Administration Authority<\/a>&nbsp;halting the production of the 737 MAX. As a result many commercial airlines moved to Airbus whose&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.lsa.umich.edu\/mje\/2024\/05\/08\/comacs-impact-on-the-future-of-the-airbus-boeing-duopoly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">market share increased to 60.4%<\/a>&nbsp;but they have their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbus.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2024-06-airbus-provides-2024-guidance-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">own supply chain issues<\/a>&nbsp;for their A320 Family aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b5f57a471ed1a69beb3f6b8b2fbbe270\">Many airlines are looking to increase their fleet sizes due to the rise in passenger demand as revenues rose by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iata.org\/en\/iata-repository\/publications\/economic-reports\/global-outlook-for-air-transport-june-2024-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">15.2% from 2023 to 2024<\/a>.&nbsp;However, due to the backlog in the supply of new aircraft, this has created a gap in the market for new airframes for manufacturing startups to capitalize on.&nbsp;The traditional airframe has not changed since Boeing\u2019s 787 2009 and before that in 2004 with Airbus\u2019s A350 as the duopoly has focused on new derivatives such as the 737-max and 777X. Before the duopoly started to crack this opportunity would previously have been difficult as the duopoly would either&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/fokker-bankruptcy-anniversary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">force<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/business\/bombardier-financial-results-airbus-c-series-1.5462182\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">buy them<\/a>&nbsp;out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f295992b61744b5d348897671076aa9c\"><strong><em>Time to capitalize and be inventive!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bfef88b6e55848eb5ffb97c838104365\">Boom Supersonic have wasted no time capitalizing with the development of their \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/boomsupersonic.com\/united\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Overture<\/a>\u2019 aircraft \u2013 designed to run fully sustainably and be twice as fast as current aircraft and have already received 130 preorders from a range of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/boomsupersonic.com\/newsroom\/fact-sheet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">major airlines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c708b7ef56dc4c2af72b04d3dc49f9de\">Manufacturers could differentiate themselves by using lightweight, durable composite materials\u2014a proven strategy employed in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boeing.com\/commercial\/787\/quality-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boeing\u2019s 787 model<\/a>. Given Boeing\u2019s current challenges, this presents a prime opportunity for a startup to capitalize on this approach.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetzero.aero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JetZero<\/a>&nbsp;has pioneered the Z5 blended-wing aircraft, engineered for full hydrogen power, while&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/natilus-blended-wing-passenger-jet-boeing-airbus-duopoly-2024-10#:~:text=A%20startup%20planemaker%20announced%20a,gap%20in%20future%20narrowbody%20demand.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Natilus<\/a>&nbsp;aims to achieve 50% greater efficiency with its designs. Meanwhile,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/outbound.aero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Outbound Aerospace<\/a>&nbsp;is leveraging 3D printing technology to accelerate the development of its aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f86001be999577beee265f48016b7a06\">Some startups such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/heartaerospace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Heart Aerospace<\/a>&nbsp;with their hybrid-electric regional aircrafts, are designing new airframes from scratch. Others are focusing on developing hypersonic aircraft, take&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hermeus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hermeus<\/a>&nbsp;for example with its reusable hypersonic aircraft, Halcyon, or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinus.com\/hypersonic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Destinus<\/a>&nbsp;that aims in 2026 to be testing its hypersonic hydrogen-fueled prototype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-82ac3be2418926043d26688b1206a1c9\">To capitalize, startups will need an all-encompassing manufacturing ERP system, capable of supporting the prototyping, manufacturing, test flight operation, maintenance and engineering, supply chain, and aftermarket sales of their aircraft and ensure a successful development, entry-into-service, and sustainment now and in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-43bd6823c1d3d24c36b2f9abf9787a3d\"><strong>Prediction 2 \u2013 Across North America eVTOLs will enter into service in 2025 as first new FAA category for 80 years paves the way<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-24b1da5b1dd3396dcd3ef002ff2420f3\">The Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector will likely see its first aircraft into service in 2025, as Electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) overcome their first entry-into-service hurdle. With the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerospacetestinginternational.com\/news\/faa-issues-sets-out-evtol-regulations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAA revising its initial requirement<\/a>&nbsp;that eVTOL pilots must hold a commercial pilot license before obtaining eVTOL certification, the pathway to certification has become more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cfc41dc30467109e387ecf55f9e52fd6\">For the first time since helicopters in the 1940s the FAA created a new civil aircraft category for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/newsroom\/integration-powered-lift-pilot-certification-and-operations-miscellaneous-amendments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Powered-Lift vehicles<\/a>, adopting a Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) for a ten year period which covers pilot qualifications, training, and operational requirements for eVTOLs in the U.S. Good news for early industry leaders and IFS customer,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobyaviation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joby Aviation<\/a>&nbsp;as they will be on track for entry-into-service for 2025 if pilots gain eVTOL certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f114d1ac4dfd9857b60abc81705091c9\">To fully capitalize on a market expected to reach&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zionmarketresearch.com\/report\/evtol-aircraft-market#:~:text=The%20global%20eVTOL%20aircraft%20market,12.58%25%20between%202024%20and%202032\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$38.24 by 2032<\/a>&nbsp;manufacturers need a supporting software system capable of managing their flight testing to record data and draw valuable insights for manufacturing and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a1997ed4ef9782e5ca3a0fd74ae7f7b4\"><strong>Prediction 3 \u2013 The MRO industry begins its Industrial AI journey as 20% implement AI in 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8cf70fddbc16ade96eb1fc5c298a57d4\">The Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry has faced many challenges over recent years. The guidance highlights how AI can be used in maintenance and states \u201cAn AI application can conduct a thorough comparison, considering multiple factors beyond predefined triggers, particularly when the system is allowed to learn over time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-42c49bc5a16f1c70bfb5f2b95405ae35\">The implementation of AI in certain areas has begun among some MRO organizations.
