And if the word makes you think of dusty shelves, warranty parts, or \u201csecond best,\u201d it\u2019s time for a mindset shift.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Remanufacturing Really Means in 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4 wp-block-paragraph\">Remanufacturing isn\u2019t about fixing broken parts. It\u2019s an industrialized process that brings used products back to life; to a condition as good as new, and often better.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5 wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>We\u2019re not repairing. We\u2019re rebuilding to specification\u2014using a mix of reused, repaired, and new parts\u2014all controlled, traceable, and built for quality.<\/em>\u201d<br>\u2014&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mikael-hultin-67a13a4\/\">Mikael Hultin<\/a>, IFS&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6 wp-block-paragraph\">Remanufacturing is also not a new idea \u2013 it has in fact&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rit.edu\/sustainabilityinstitute\/blog\/what-remanufacturing\">been around since the time of the second&nbsp;<\/a>world war, when it emerged as a resource-efficient way to produce and maintain heavy machinery. But in 2025, more companies are recognizing its value; not just for sustainability, but for operational continuity and cost efficiency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Climbing the Value Hill, Again<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8 wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine a product\u2019s life cycle as a hill. You start with raw materials, manufacture, distribute, and use the product. Traditionally, once it wears down, it\u2019s scrap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9 wp-block-paragraph\">Remanufacturing changes that.
