This survey measures your company’s capabilities in Supply Chain Resilience, Production Agility, and Revision Control. (Scoring for Response Options: 1 = Never/Manual, 5 = Fully/Integrated)
This section measures the speed of transitioning a product from design to production and the management of revisions throughout the process.
A1. Does the BOM generated in the design (CAD/PLM) system automatically flow into the manufacturing and procurement systems without manual input?
A2. Are product hardware and software revisions (HW/SW) monitored in a single central system across production and service processes?
A3. When launching a new product (NPI), does the system automatically plan and reserve all necessary resources (materials, equipment, and labor?)
A4. Does the system automatically identify when a product reaches end-of-life (EOL) or a critical component is worn out, and trigger the search for replacement parts?
A5. During the sales quotation phase, does the system automatically create the correct BOM, routing, and cost estimate for customer-specific configurations (CTO)?
This section measures global supply chain risks, material shortages, and inventory optimization.
B1. Does the system automatically perform risk and forecasting analyses for critical components with long lead times or significant price fluctuations?
B2. Does the system automatically switch to a backup/alternative supplier in the event of a disruption at a primary supplier (e.g., fire, port closure)?
B3. Does your warehouse management system (WMS) automatically guide product placement and picking based on location, expiration dates (FEFO/FIFO), and serial numbers of critical components?
B4. Do abrupt and large changes in sales forecasts get instantly and automatically incorporated into supply and production schedules?
B5. Does the system automatically block critical components (e.g., semiconductors) from entering production based on their Quality Control (QC) results?
This section measures the speed and accuracy of shop floor processes as well as traceability after delivery.
C1. For each board or device in production, are the lot/serial numbers of all components used recorded in real time (Serial Tracking)?
C2. Does the system track defect detection and rework processes in detail, ensuring that every rework step is correctly accounted for in the costs?
C3. Can field technicians instantly access the warranty and revision history of a faulty device at the customer site (based on records from A2) via their mobile devices?
C4. Does the system automatically associate and archive production test and calibration results (e.g., PCB tests) with the relevant product serial numbers?
C5. Does the system systematically transfer failure data from warranty processes of sold products to the Engineering team to support improvements in future designs?
